Occasionally the local paper turns up on the scene. This page features any family newspaper clippings, often taken without notice and of unexpected subjects.
I have just realised this clipping is from the national paper Daily Mail, rather than the local paper!
On the other hand, perhaps it was for a special or extraordinary occasion, such as the 100th Birthday of William Tranter 1848 – 49.
